STEP 3: Select Category
If those things are OK, launch the game and, from the Main Menu, select Options. Make sure that the sliders for Sounds and/or Music are not positioned fully to the left, which will turn sounds off. If they are fully to the left, move the sliders to the right until the sound levels are at a comfortable setting.
If checking those things doesn't resolve the problem, you will need to check the audio settings in your Mac's System Preferences. To do that, open System Preferences, then open the settings for Sound. Click on the Output tab, and make sure that OS X is set to output audio to the proper device. If you're using a laptop, for example, you should set the output device to internal speakers. That should resolve the problem, and you should hear audio from the game.
Finally, if those steps fail to restore audio to the game, a tip from a Mac user suggests that starting Garage Band, playing a few notes, and then quitting Garage Band may resolve the issue.
